Liveaboard charters are simple to arrange and can apply to a number of activities and various types of groups: from educational and research groups that log fish and wildlife statistics to scuba diving with colleagues, to family and friend getaways that include hiking and kayaking as well as diving. The possibilities for exploring and enjoying the Santa Barbara Chanel Islands are endless.

Our charter rates are designed to give you the lowest per person rates possible, allowing you to make your trip more affordable for your guests or more profitable for you to resell. It’s easy to get started, a simple contract and small holding fee is all you need to lock in a date. You can pay for the trip bit by bit or in one lump sum before departure, allowing you plenty of time to pull together the financial details. Private charters also give you the greatest level of control over the details of a trip, allowing you to personalize your trip exactly how you want it!

Educational Charters

For more than 35 years, Truth Aquatics has been exploring the wilderness of the Santa Barbara Channel Islands. Our live-aboard fleet will be your floating classroom as you and your students explore the Channel Islands National Park.
Established in 1980, the Channel Islands National Park consists of five islands; San Miguel, Santa Rosa, Santa Cruz, Anacapa Island and Santa Barbara Island. The islands are home to more than 150 endemic species of plants and animals and the Channel Islands National Park is often referred to as the American Galapagos of the Northern hemisphere.

The Truth Aquatics fleet of live-aboard boats provides the perfect environment for your students to learn in a safe, supervised, and exciting new way: by experiencing nature and exploring the wonders of marine life by being surrounded by it. The influential psychologist and educator, Carl Rogers stated, “Experiential learning is equivalent to personal change and growth.”

It is through this type experiential learning that your students will discover why the Channel Islands and their surrounding waters are unique and special. Your students can learn to identify seabirds and marine mammals by seeing them first hand, like the difference between a sea lion and a harbor seal. Your lesson plan can include a variety of topics; island geology, marine biology and island ecology.

The educational activities section of the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary can provide you with many ideas and classroom materials to help you build a lesson plan for a truly unique educational experience for your students.

Unique Educational Experiences Include:

  • Whale watching
  • Identifying carpets of seasonal wildflowers in bloom
